During
the last decade, the department has
started generating funds by conducting
training programmes on mushroom production
technology of paddy straw, oyster and
white button mushroom since 2000. It
has sold bottles of spawn (seeds of
mushroom). At present there is accumulation
of fund in Mushroom revoling fund to
a tune of Rs. 2,64,275/-. On an average Rs. 40000-50000/- is being generated the sale
of spawn, mushroom kit & training.

There
is sufficient scope of fund raising
in the area like seed health testing
for issuing of certificates, consultancy
services pertaining to plant protection
for the progressive formers and training
on the seed testing and seed treatment
for the progressive seed growers and
extension personnel. These services
are presently rendered free of cost.
