At
present there are one Professor and Head,
nine Associate Professors and seven Assistant
Professors Fig 1 against the sanctioned
strength of one Professor & Head, four Associate Professors and fourteen Assistant Professors. In addition,
four Research Assistants (Dieing cadre)
are also working in the department. These
are specialists in different fields and
trained regularly to update their knowledge
from time to time through the summer institutes/
various training programmes. They are required
to impart the UG, PG teaching as per ICAR Norms and guide the research work of the M.Sc. (Ag) and Ph.D. students;
to conduct researches in thrust areas of
plant pathology. Some of the members of
the department are also engaged in supervising
several works at university level like
security, estate maintenance, warden-ship
and editorial in several bulletins and
Farm Science Journal. Till to date they have organized three symposia; run nine ad
hoc projects funded by ICAR/DST/UPCAR;
organized summer institutes; (one on seed
Pathology and two on multimedia) developed
four UG manuals and five interactive teaching
modules for UG and PG students; synthesized
and validated the IPM modules; and written
fifteen books on the subject besides publishing the research papers and book chapters. Their expertise and
